Everton are now said to be on the Deportivo striker’s trail, after summer interest from Burnley and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Everton are scouring Europe for Romelu Lukaku replacements an have asked about Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone, according to the Sun.

The Toffees recruited Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez during the summer transfer window, but are still looking for a regular source of goals – despite Oumar Niasse having scored three in 59 minutes this season.

And Andone is said to feature on Ronald Norman’s shortlist, after his 12-goal haul last term.

Both Burnley and Brighton & Hove were reported to have made bids for the Romanian last month, but were informed by Depor president Tino Fernandez that it would take a bid equalling Andone’s buyout clause – £27.3 million – to prise him away from Estadio Riazor.

One suspects that such a fee would not be out of Everton’s price range, with the Sun reporting that some of the £75 million the Toffees received for Lukaku has remained available to Koeman.

Andone has scored one goal and assisted two in five La Liga appearances this season.
