According to a report from Sky Sports, Everton have agreed compensation with Leicester City to land their head of recruitment Steve Walsh.

The Toffees are embarking on a new era this summer, as new owner Farhad Moshiri looks set to splash the cash, and has already made on ambitious move by appointing Ronald Koeman as the club’s new manager this summer.

A number of new signings are expected with the rumour mill working in overdrive, but Moshiri appears to have agreed a deal to make a key appointment.

Sky Sports report that Everton have agreed a deal to snap up Leicester City’s head of recruitment Steve Walsh, with a move seemingly close to completion.

Walsh, 51, has worked wonders in the scouting department at the King Power Stadium, and has been credited with moves for N’Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy – three players who were vital as the Foxes won the Premier League title last season.

Walsh is now being offered a huge move to Everton though, with Moshiri willing to make him the club’s new Director of Football, with new manager Koeman keen to establish a European structure at Goodison Park, much like he had at former club Southampton.

It’s stated that after Leicester rejected an initial approach from Everton over the weekend, the two teams have now finally agreed compensation despite Walsh signing a new contract with the Foxes back in May.

A move to Everton is believed to be particularly appealing for Walsh as he is keen on a move back to the North West, having been born in Chorley, Lancashire.

The deal appears to be close, and once Walsh gets down to work at Goodison Park, we could see more activity from the Toffees in the transfer market, with Maarten Stekelenburg their only senior signing so far this summer.
