Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to hijack Premier League rivals Everton’s deal to sign Andre Gomes from La Liga champions Barcelona.

Everton are increasingly fearful that Andre Gomes will chose to join Tottenham Hotspur rather than stay at Goodison Park for another season, according to Sport.
The Barcelona midfielder joined The Toffees on loan last summer and he has rebuilt his reputation on Merseyside with some fabulous performances at the heart of Marco Silva’s midfield.
As a result, Everton are expected to try and sign Gomes on a permanent basis but they are not alone in targeting the Portugal international.
Sport claimed on Friday that Spurs had agreed terms with the playmaker’s agent and were preparing to send a £26 million bid Barcelona’s way.

The same publication have offered an update on Monday, claiming that Everton are very worried about Tottenham’s interest. There is a genuine fear in and around Goodison Park now that Gomes will be playing Premier League football in Spurs’ colours during the 2019/20 campaign.
You can bet that Everton will attempt to match or increase any offer that Tottenham make, however, for a player whose superb passing range and ability to open up opposition defences has made a real difference in recent months.
