According to L’Interista, Everton are fans of Ivan Perisic and have ‘tested the waters’ in regards to signing the Inter Milan forward.
What’s the story?
Well, this would certainly be a big name signing for Everton.
L’Interista believe the Toffees admire the 111-cap Croatia international, who is also wanted by Roma and AC Milan.
You would like to think AC Milan can be ruled out as Perisic wouldn’t leave Inter Milan for their rivals.
However, Hakan Çalhanoğlu swapped AC Milan for Inter Milan back in June, so who knows?
In our view, the main threat for Everton comes from Roma, as José Mourinho is known to be a huge fan of Perisic.
The Portuguese coach made numerous attempts to bring him to Manchester United, and told Russia TV: “Perisic is the kind of winger that is different to the others. Normally you look at wingers and they are just fast and creative. But he is also physical, very physical. Fantastic in the air.”
Perisic finds himself out of contract in June, but if he is enjoying life in Italy, a move to Rome would surely appeal to him over Merseyside.
Interestingly, Everton also wanted the £125,000-a-week man in 2014, when Roberto Martinez was at the helm (Daily Mail).
Everton must avoid Ivan Perisic

In addition to Perisic, Everton have been linked with a move for Alexis Sanchez, another ageing Inter Milan forward who is past his best.
If these stories are genuine, it’s a big concern.
If the signings of Ben Godfrey and Demarai Gray have told Marcel Brands anything, it’s that young, talented players are the way forward.
There should be no more budget signings like Salomon Rondon.
Does Rafa Benitez want Goodison Park to be a fortress or a retirement home?

Of course, some experience is necessary, but Everton need a recruitment model to stick by, as it all seems a bit messy right now.
Just look at Crystal Palace.
The Eagles were drowning in mediocrity with ageing players like Scott Dann, but have now started to recruit with the future in mind.
The signings of Michael Olise, Eberechi Eze, Odsonne Edouard and Marc Guéhi were masterstrokes, to say the least.
Hopefully, if Perisic does end up at Everton, his arrival is met with a handful of under-25 additions as well.
