Everton are reportedly keen on Nice striker Alassane Plea.
According to the Daily Mail, Everton have made an enquiry about signing Nice forward Alassane Plea, with a host of Premier League rivals also keen.
The Toffees have yet to make a new signing this summer, but Marcel Brands and Marco Silva will be working to bring in additions ahead of the new season.
Whilst Cenk Tosun was snapped up from Besiktas in January, another goalscorer may be needed this summer, and Everton appear to have their sights set on a French attacker.
The Daily Mail report that Everton have made their first move for Nice forward Alassane Plea by launching an enquiry in the hope of bringing him to Goodison Park this summer.
However, it’s also noted that four Premier League rivals – Fulham, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United – are also pursuing Plea’s signature, meaning Everton face a real battle for his services.
Plea, 25, came through the ranks with Lyon before leaving for first-team football with Nice in 2014, and he has improved year-on-year, hitting 14 goals in the 2016-17 campaign before smashing 21 goals last season.
A versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line, Plea has pace and power as well as skill and finishing ability, meaning he could be used alongside Tosun or in support of the Turkish star.
The fee being discussed for Plea is around £27million, but with so many clubs interested, Nice could yet hold out for a bidding war – and Everton would then have to decide just how much they want him.
