Ronald Koeman is reportedly determined to secure the Newcastle United star.

According to the Daily Mail, Everton manager Ronald Koeman is determined to beat Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of Newcastle United star Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Blues are expected to be busy this summer as the Dutchman has the backing of Farhad Moshiri and his millions.
They are keen to drastically improve the squad to try and bounce back from two disappointing seasons that have seen them finish 11th in the table.

One man they have been linked to is Newcastle midfielder Wijnaldum, who impressed for the Magpies despite their disappointing relegation from the Premier League.
They are not the only top flight team interested in his services though as Tottenham have also registered their interest.
However, according to the Daily Mail, Everton boss Ronald Koeman is determined to beat Spurs to the Dutchman’s signature.

They report that he will try to construct a deal to bring his compatriot to Goodison Park and it could also include goalkeeper Tim Krul.
Whether they can reach an agreement however remains to be seen given Newcastle are not interested in losing one of their star men and have put a £27 million asking price on the forward to try and ensure they can keep him at St James’ Park.
