According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton have decided to release Shani Tarashaj from his contract at Goodison Park.

Tarashaj’s two-year loan spell at FC Emmen was officially cut short on Tuesday, with the Dutch side surprising sending him back to Merseyside.

The 25-year-old is now not only leaving Emmen, but also Everton too after they allegedly tore up his contract.

Tarashaj joined Emmen in 2019, but he has bizarrely failed to make a single appearancefor the club, featuring only in their Under-21’s.

An attacking midfield player, Tarashaj never played for Everton’s first team eiher, despite signing from Grasshoppers in 2016.

When Everton landed Tarashaj, he was picked out as one of Switzerland’s top young talents, and the Toffees saw real potential in him by paying £3.5million.

Roberto Martinez told the Daily Post that he thought Tarashaj was a ‘special talent’ and ‘very exciting’, believing that he would get Everton fans off their feet.

Sadly, it just hasn’t worked out that way, and Tarashaj will now become a free agent having failed to play a single senior game for Everton.
