Everton are believed to be interested in signing Wayne Rooney from Manchester United.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Wayne Rooney’s return to Everton is looking increasingly unlikely.
Rooney was expected to leave Manchester United this summer, after struggling to break into Jose Mourinho’s team this past season.
However, Rooney’s wage demands are proving a major problem.

Rooney is on around £250,000 a week at United, and Everton simply cannot match that.
As a result, Rooney’s return to Merseyside is looking increasingly unlikely at this stage.

England’s record scorer is also said to be reluctant to move to China, as he doesn’t want to relocate his family.
As a result, Rooney could yet stay at United – as his options are so limited.
Rooney made 39 appearances for United over the past campaign, scoring on eight occasions.
