According to the Daily Mail, Everton could end up signing Sporting midfielder Matheus Nunes on loan with an obligation to buy.
Record claimed over the weekend that Nunes was very close to signing for Everton despite interest from Newcastle United.
That was suggested as a permanent move in order to become Nuno Espirito Santo’s first signing as Everton boss – but that may not be the case.
Nunes to Everton… on loan?
It’s now stated that Everton could take Nunes on loan with a view to a permanent deal worth around £20million, with talks underway.
Sporting are open to such a deal, but would want an obligation to make the move permanent rather than just an option.
It remains to be seen whether Everton accept that deal, but it does seem to be financially beneficial for the Toffees.

Who is Matheus Nunes?
Nunes, 22, is a skilful central midfielder who can bring real ball-carrying ability to the Everton midfielder.
The Brazilian looks to have a big future in the game, and made 31 appearances in Sporting’s title-winning season, though many came from the bench.
The report adds that Nunes isn’t represented by Jorge Mendes, but his agents have close to Mendes, meaning it all adds up if Nuno does become Everton boss soon.
