According to the Daily Mail, Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter is still in the frame for the Everton job despite links to Rafael Benitez.
Everton lose Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid earlier this month, and the Toffees are still yet to find a replacement for the Italian.
The Mirror claim that Benitez is the favourite despite fan backlash against his potential arrival – but Potter could still be an option.
Everton fancy Potter
It’s claimed that Everton have spoken to ‘a number of managers’, and still have Potter down as a potential appointment despite the move for Benitez.
Toffees fans really don’t want Benitez due to his Liverpool history and his past comments on Everton, and would surely be more amenable to Potter.
Benitez still seems more likely, but if Moshiri and co do end up scrapping the move due to fan backlash, Potter could be the man to come in.

How did Potter fare last season?
If you look at the table, Potter only guided Brighton to a 16th place finish, winning just nine games and finishing 13 points clear of the drop zone.
Potter brought a superb brand of football to Brighton though, creating a host of chances almost every week, with the finishing touch missing all too often.
Pep Guardiola thinks Potter is ‘the best English manager’ right now, and with better strikers at Everton, his style of play could reap greater rewards at Goodison Park.
