Everton could be about to sign another player from Barcelona after SPORT gave an update on Samuel Umtiti.
The Spanish news outlet revealed that the France international has now recovered from his injury, which should be the ‘starting gun’ for a January exit.
Of course, no club is going to want to sign an injured player mid-season, so it was key that the former Lyon defender recovered.
SPORT state that Everton have asked about the World Cup winner, while Juventus are also eyeing the centre-back, who Barcelona paid £24.6 million for.
It is mentioned in the report that the Spanish giants want Umtiti to go to a side who will ‘pamper him physically’ due to his injury-prone nature.

The Frenchman would be happy to leave the Camp Nou, so long as he is joining a ‘good sports project’ as SPORT state.
If Umtiti does arrive at Goodison Park, then he will join a number of ex-Barcelona players on Merseyside.
The Toffees have previously done business with the Spaniards when signing Lucas Digne, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

The two clubs must presumably be well-connected and have a good relationship.
Carlo Ancelotti currently has Michael Keane, Mina, Mason Holgate and Ben Godfrey to play at centre-back.
However, if he can stay fit, you can’t reject a player of Umtiti’s pedigree.
