Frank Lampard’s Everton are considering a bid from Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea for Tottenham Hotspur target Anthony Gordon in the summer transfer window, according to talkSPORT.

Chelsea have bid for Tottenham target and Everton winger Anthony Gordon

TalkSPORT have reported that Chelsea have made an offer in excess of £40 million for Gordon, and that Everton are considering it.

This will come as a blow for Tottenham Hotspur, who have also been linked with the 21-year-old winger.

90min reported on June 27 that during talks with Everton over signing Brazilian forward Richarlison, Tottenham asked about Gordon.

Spurs admire the winger and want him to be part of a player-exchange deal, with Everton interested in Harry Winks, according to the report.

Midfielder Winks is still at Tottenham.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, if Everton are considering Chelsea’s bid for Tottenham Hotspur target Anthony Gordon, then a transfer could happen.

After all, if the Toffees were adamant that they were not going to sell Gordon, then they would have told Chelsea so.

Now, we think that Everton should hold out for more than £40 million if they are to see a talented and promising homeroom player such as Gordon.

The 21-year-old is hugely talented and was described as “a player who is very explosive” by former Everton manager Rafael Benitez in The Liverpool Echo in October 2021.
