According to Tutto Mercato Web, Everton have identified Genoa striker Giovanni Simeone as a potential transfer target this summer.

The Toffees saw Lukaku snub a new contract with the club earlier this week, and whilst the Belgian has two years left on his contract at Goodison Park, many expect Lukaku to leave the club this summer.

Lukaku, who now has 62 Premier League goals 131 games for the club, has become Everton’s top Premier League goalscorer this season, and his expected departure would leave a huge hole for the Toffees to fill.

Now, Tutto Mercato Web report that Everton are interested in Genoa’s Giovanni Simeone with a view to snapping him up as a potential Lukaku replacement.

The son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, Giovanni started his career in the youth ranks of River Plate, and after a successful loan spell with Banfield, he moved on to Genoa last summer.

Seen as one for the future, Simeone has impressed in Italy this season, notching 11 goals in 27 appearances for Genoa, though he has gone six games without a goal now.

A striker who can also play out wide, Simeone has pace and technical ability, whilst he looks to have huge potential to become a star of the future.

That has unsurprisingly caught the eye of many clubs, and Everton are now allegedly joining the race, with Director of Football Steve Walsh working hard to line up transfer targets for the summer window.
