Juventus could demand Lucas Digne in exchange if Everton come calling for Adrien Rabiot this summer, with Calciomercato reporting that the two France internationals are both valued at around £23 million.

The Toffees, then, have a decision to make.

Carlo Ancelotti is a big fan of Rabiot, handing the powerhouse midfielder his senior debut during their time together at Paris Saint-Germain.

But is he willing to sacrifice one of the finest full-backs in the Premier League in order to reunite with the five-time Ligue 1 champion at Goodison Park?

There is little doubt that Rabiot, with his fearsome blend of physical and technical gifts, is the sort of player who could take Everton to the next level.

A midfield trio with him, Andre Gomes and a fully-fit Jean-Philippe Gbamin should have Toffees fans drooling at the mouth.

But is Rabiot really worth swapping Digne for? There are few better left-backs in world football right now than the former Roma and Barcelona flyer, who has been a reliable source of assists since moving to Merseyside two years ago.

Juventus are big fans of Digne.

And considering that Alex Sandro, the experienced Brazil international, is the only senior left-back at Maurizio Sarri’s disposal, it is no surprise that they would demand him in a deal that could see the £115,000-a-week playmaker Rabiot go in the other direction.

Then again, talented midfielders are easier to come across than full-backs capable of changing games at the highest level. Maybe Everton should stick with what they’ve got.
