Everton are interested in signing £35 million Sao Paulo goalkeeper Lucas Perri, according to Gazeta Esportiva – just one year after his underwhelming spell at Crystal Palace came to an end.
We would forgive even the most hard-nosed Eagles fanatics for forgetting all about this 22-year-old shot-stopper.
In six months at Selhurst Park, Perri failed to make a single Crystal Palace appearance.
In fact, he never even forced his way into the matchday squad and it was little surprise when the Londoners opted not to sign the youngster on a permanent basis in the summer of 2019.
So few would have expected to see Perri linked with a return to England so soon.
Reports in Brazil claim that Everton have enquired about the Brazil U23 international, although the Toffees are yet to firm up their interest.
Perri has a £35 million release clause in his contract. Then again, with just one first-team appearance for Sao Paulo under his belt, the giants of Brazilian football would surely accept a vastly reduced fee.

“He’s been very, very good, but the fact is it’s not going to be a moment where I would look past (Wayne) Hennessey and (Julian) Speroni to give him a game,” Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson sold the South London Press when asked why Perri had not got a look in at Selhurst Park.
With Jordan Pickford becoming something of a buffoonish parody of his once-brilliant self at Everton, however, first-team action could be easier to come by in the north west.
