Rui Vitória is among Everton’s current considerations after being offered to the managerless Premier League club, according to the Daily Mirror.
Vitória, the Benfica head coach, is said to be interested in a move to English football.
Everton have so far drawn blanks in their search for Ronald Koeman’s successor, and it is claimed they are ‘hitting a brick wall’ trying to prise another Portuguese, Marco Silva, away from Watford.
Nevertheless, Vitória could prove an attractive alternative to Silva, having won four major trophies in two full seasons in Lisbon.
The 47-year-old also won silverware at previous club Vitória de Guimarães and led minnows Paços de Ferreira to the final of the Portuguese League Cup in 2011.
Everton, though, are currently embroiled in a relegation battle following Sunday’s 4-1 defeat at the hands of Southampton.
