The Mirror claim Everton are looking at a potential £35million move to sign Watford winger Ismaila Sarr in January after the Senegal international played against England at the World Cup – losing 3-0 to Gareth Southgate’s outfit.
The 24-year-old is back in the Championship with Watford after suffering relegation for the second time during his Hornets spell. He has scored six goals in 17 Championship appearances, but his form in the Premier League is strong.
Playing in a side that has languised towards the bottom of the table, Sarr has still managed 18 goal involvements in 50 games. Scoring 10, creating eight. He has a contract at Vicarage Road until June 2024, meaning a sale is likely.
The report states that Everton are now looking to raid Watford and lure Sarr to Goodison Park. Everton of course, have history with Watford – bringing in Marco Silva, and players Abdoulaye Doucoure and Richarlison in the past.
Sarr is expected to feature this weekend for Watford with Slaven Bilic keen to use him straightaway. That is despite only being knocked out of the World Cup by England last Sunday – as the Three Lions continue to march on.

Sarr would be a wonderful addition – but do Everton need another winger? They brought in Dwight McNeil in in the summer, while still boasting Andros Townsend, Anthony Gordon and Demarai Gray. A winger might not be needed.
However, Sarr is an incredible talent and it is clear, he is too good for the Championship. If Everton have £35million to spend, then bringing in the versatile attacker would be excellent business. He could provide cover up top, too.
One feather in Everton’s cap might be that Sarr is represented by the same agency that looks after Everton star Yerry Mina, according to TransferMarkt. That might just help Everton push through a deal, with other clubs likely to be keen.
