According to the Daily Record, Frank Lampard is interested in bringing Tom Rogic to Everton, after he left Celtic in July.
What’s the story?
Well, the Australia international chose to run his contract down in Glasgow as he looked for a new challenge, but he is yet to find it – however, the Toffees could now offer him a fresh adventure on Merseyside.
The Daily Record believe Lampard is considering handing a contract to the 29-year-old as he aims to strengthen his midfield options, although he faces competition from clubs in Australia and Indonesia.
It comes after Rogic made 50 appearances in his final season at Celtic Park, ending a nine-year stay in Glasgow by scoring six goals and providing ten assists as the Bhoys wrestled back the Scottish Premiership title.
In total, the Aussie made 272 appearances for Celtic, scoring 46 goals while also providing 49 assists as he won 16 pieces of silverware with the Hoops.
Tom Rogic should push for Everton move
In our view, Rogic would be a fool to ignore interest from Everton – especially with the World Cup approaching in November.
The Toffees are one of the biggest clubs in England, and what an opportunity it would be for Rogic – a goalscoring midfielder – to work under one of the best of his generation in Lampard.
Especially on a free transfer, it’s a deal which would surely benefit all parties.

Furthermore, if Anthony Gordon does join Chelsea, Lampard will need to find a new source of creativity and goals, both of which Rogic – who Chris Sutton called a “lovely footballer” – provided aplenty at Celtic.
As things stand, the Everton No.10 is staying at Goodison Park after a bid from Chelsea worth £40m was rejected.
Keep an eye on this situation, as we’ll be very surprised if Rogic doesn’t find a new club soon.
