Everton are in the driving seat to complete a deal for Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez after Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban was upheld.
Sandro is a product of Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, and even featured in the first team under Luis Enrique.

However, with opportunities getting limited, he opted to join Malaga where he enjoyed a fabulous first season, scoring 14 La Liga goals for the club.
His form didn’t go unnoticed. Everton manager Ronald Koeman personally scouted him during a trip to Spain, and met with the player’s agent.

Everton were facing a tough battle to sign him with Atletico Madrid emerging out as favourites for his signature.
On Thursday morning, the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld FIFA’s ban on Atletico signing players this summer which inevitably put Atletico out of the race for Sandro.
According to reports from The Independent, the Toffees are now clear favourites to sign the 21-year-old striker.
The player has a £5.1m release clause and it is easily affordable for Everton. The report also adds that Everton have already agreed a deal in principle with Sandro, and they are in pole position to sign him.
The Merseyside club are also close to completing a deal for Cuco Martina from Southampton following his release by the club.
