Manchester City’s Laurence Stewart could be heading to Everton.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are hoping to snatch Manchester City analyst Laurence Stewart and reunite him with director of football Steve Walsh.
The Toffees went through a major overhaul during the summer, as Ronald Koeman arrived as their new manager before Walsh left Leicester for a major role at Goodison Park.

As Everton’s director of football, Walsh has overseen the signings of players like Ashley Williams, Idrissa Gueye and Yannick Bolasie, which has contributed to Everton’s strong start to the season.
However, more changes could be on the horizon behind the scenes at Goodison Park, with Walsh looking to reunite with one of his former colleagues.

The Liverpool Echo report that Everton are hoping to prise analyst Laurence Stewart away from Premier League rivals Manchester City, allowing him to work with Walsh again.
Stewart has been serving as City’s Head of Performance Analysis since 2014, and is a favourite of Walsh having worked together at Hull City, where Stewart was Head of Technical Analysis.
The West Yorkshire-born analyst also worked with England at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and his work over the years appears to have stuck with Walsh.

Everton are believed to be confident of securing a deal, especially with Pep Guardiola’s arrival causing a structural reshuffle at the Etihad Stadium.
The Toffees lost analyst Steve Brown to Manchester United over the summer, and have been searching for a replacement ever since – and now, Stewart appears to be their top target.
