Everton are reportedly close to signing Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson.
According to The Mirror, Everton are not only closing in on the signing of Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney, but also Swansea City playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The Toffees have already boosted their squad with the additions of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen and Sandro Ramirez, but more signings appear to be on the way.

Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is all set for a stunning return to Everton, having left his boyhood club for a move to Old Trafford back in the summer of 2004 – and his comeback could be added to.
The Mirror not only claim that Rooney’s move will be finalised imminently, but also report that a deal for Swansea City star Gylfi Sigurdsson is also on the verge of completion.
Sigurdsson, 27, has been one of the Premier League’s top attacking midfielders since leaving Tottenham Hotspur for a return to former club Swansea, and he smashed nine goals and 13 assists for the Swans last season.
The Icelandic international was a leading light as Swansea avoided relegation to the Championship last season, but he could have played his final game for Paul Clement’s men.

It’s claimed that Sigurdsson is set for a move to Everton worth at least £30million, whilst the Toffees are handing him a whopping pay packet of £135,000-a-week to complete his move to Goodison Park.
If true, that would be another boost to Ronald Koeman’s options, but just how he would fit central attacking players such as Klaassen, Rooney and Sigurdsson into one team remains to be seen.
