Everton have reportedly failed with a bid to sign Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
According to The Telegraph, Everton have failed with a £19million bid to sign Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, but are expected to return with a new offer.
The Toffees are expected to be in the market for new signings during this month’s transfer window, given that they missed out on a host of summer targets, and have endured some hot and cold displays in the Premier League.

Even though youngster Tom Davies is coming up through the ranks, Everton should be looking to boost their options in central midfield, given that Gareth Barry is almost 36, and Idrissa Gueye is heading to the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.
One man who has been continuously linked with a move to Goodison Park is Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin – and there has been a development in their pursuit.
The Telegraph report that Everton have submitted a £19million bid to sign Schneiderlin, but that offer has been rejected just days into the January transfer window.

It’s claimed that Everton’s offer is £5million short, as United want to recoup the £24million they paid to sign Schneiderlin from Southampton in 2015, but Everton are expected to return with a second bid in the near future.
Schneiderlin, 27, played under Everton boss Ronald Koeman at Southampton, with his excellent performances for the Saints earning him that big-money move to Old Trafford.
However, the move has turned into a nightmare for Schneiderlin, as he’s become a forgotten man under Jose Mourinho this season, having played just 11 minutes in the Premier League this term.
A proven Premier League player with experience of playing under Koeman, Schneiderlin would be the ideal signing for Everton and perfect heir to Barry – but the Toffees will have to come back with a bigger and better offer to sign him.
