Everton and Leicester City are considering moves to sign Nice striker Kasper Dolberg this summer, according to Calciomercato.

The Premier League rivals admire what Dolberg could offer in the English top-flight next season after shining at Euro 2020. He turned in a decisive display to help Denmark eliminate Wales from the competition in the Last 16 on Saturday with goals on either side of half-time.

Dolberg broke the deadlock midway through the first period with a precise curling effort from the edge of the box. And the 23-year-old secured his brace minutes into the second half by smashing home after Neco Williams sliced his clearance.

Dolberg’s goals left Wales deflated with his first changing the game in Denmark’s favour. He was then able to prove a nuisance for Robert Page’s defence on his first start of the Euros. Kasper Hjulmand had previously only fielded the forward for 30 minutes at the tournament.

The 28-cap centre-forward is now building a market for himself in the summer transfer window. Everton and Leicester could offer Dolberg the chance to test himself in the Premier League next season, after hitting home six goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances last term.

The Ajax product ended the campaign strongly by scoring against Lyon on the final day to deny the Groupama Stadium side Champions League football. Dolberg had suffered with injuries throughout the season, which restricted his chances of finding consistent form.

Everton target Dolberg was game-changing at Euro 2020

Dolberg delivered a game-changing display at Euro 2020 to help Denmark beat Wales and draw interest from Everton and Leicester. His first goal of the game came from relatively little, after picking his head up in a pocket of space to delightfully find the far corner.

The goal destabilised Wales and allowed Denmark to gain the ascendency after a slow start. It also saw fans give him a hero’s send-off in the 70th-minute, while Hjulmand clutched his face with affection. Such was the impact his tricky presence caused.

Dolberg was delighted to have made a difference, having been itching to get on the pitch in the group stage. “Nobody wants to be on the bench, and I felt, waiting there at the end of the day, had a great outcome,” he said, via ESPN. “I felt I contributed with something great. I felt it was special for me. Today everything feels right.”
