Everton are battling RB Leipzig to sign Romain Perraud even though the attack-minded full-back has agreed a new contract until 2025 with Brest, as reported by Le10 Sport.
18 months after investing £2.5 million in the former Nice defender, Brest look set to make an almighty profit on one of Ligue 1’s rising stars.
Because, with five assists and three goals to his name already this season, Perraud’s all-action displays are starting to catching the eye of clubs far higher up the proverbial footballing pyramid.
Le10 Sport claims the former France U20 international has agreed to extend his current deal from 2023 to 2025.
But that hasn’t stopped the likes of Everton and RB Leipzig from showing an interest, even if Brest do hold all the power in negotiations with that new contract all but signed and sealed

It’s surely no coincidence the Toffees appear to have placed Perraud on their wish list during Lucas Digne’s lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The versatile Ben Godfrey has done a fine job in an unfamiliar role, helping Everton secure impressive victories over Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester. However, the former Norwich skipper can’t match Digne’s creativity on the left-hand side.
Perraud would be a more natural replacement if Digne was to suffer another long-term injury – a square peg in a square hole, if you like.
