Everton are reportedly hoping to beat Crystal Palace to the signing of Jairo Riedewald.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton are hijacking Crystal Palace’s move to sign Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald, in a move that could cost £8.6million.
The Toffees have been the Premier League’s busiest club in the transfer market this summer, as they have added key players such as Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney to their first team.

Manager Ronald Koeman may still need more new additions, and whilst fans now want to see a new striker signed following Romelu Lukaku’s move to Manchester United, a new left back could be on Everton’s radar.
Leighton Baines is ageing and suffered injury problems last season, whilst Brendan Galloway has been loaned out to Sunderland and Luke Garbutt doesn’t appear ready for regular Premier League football.
Now, the Liverpool Echo report that Everton want to sign Ajax’s Jairo Riedewald, and are hijacking Crystal Palace’s move to sign the Dutchman, which could cost around £8.6million.
Riedewald, 20, has come up through the ranks of Ajax’s famed academy, and has now made almost 100 first-team appearances for the Amsterdam giants.

The defender was expected to reunite with his former Ajax boss Frank de Boer at Crystal Palace, but it’s now claimed that Everton are hijacking the move and hope to bring him to Goodison Park, with Koeman viewing him as a valuable squad player with potential ahead of the club’s return to the Europa League.
Capable of playing at left back, centre back and in holding midfield, Riedewald looks to be a versatile option in key areas for this Everton team, and the Toffees will be hoping to pip Palace to his signature.
