Everton are said to be right at the top of the queue to sign Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, the Daily Mail report.
Everton had Zouma on loan two season ago, and they pushed hard to sign him in 2019, but were unable to get a deal over the line.
Since, those links have gone quiet, but the Mail say that Everton have retained an interest.
Indeed, they talk up the Toffees’ chances of landing the French central defender, with their update saying that Carlo Ancelotti’s side are leading the way to sign him, alongside Leicester City.
Zouma has actually been a starter for Chelsea recently, but Thiago Silva has arrived this summer, and Frank Lampard is thought to be keen to reshuffle his defence.

It would be a shock if Zouma was let go, but his arrival back at Everton would surely excite their fans.
Zouma caught the eye during his last spell at Goodison Park, and he would surely make an excellent addition to Everton’s side this summer, if Chelsea were to make the surpisedecision to sanction his departure.
If Everton are to sign Zouma then he will cost £36 million, according to Le 10 Sport.
