Everton are reportedly showing interest in the Atalanta attacking midfielder.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder is an experienced Serie A player, having played for clubs like Palermo, Fiorentina and now Atalanta.

He has been in fine form this season and has scored 11 goals in all competitions so far. He caught the eye this week as he scored twice in Atalanta’s 3-2 defeat against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.
The Slovenia international, who has 50 caps under his belt is vastly experienced, no doubt, but the question remains whether he is the right profile of player Everton should be looking at.

Everton faced Atalanta in the Europa League group stages this season, but Ilicic did not play play either in the home or the away fixtures.
He is a versatile attacking player who mainly plays as a no 10 behind the striker, but can play as a false nine or in the right-wing position.
Everton signed Theo Walcott in the January transfer window who can carry out a similar function. With hardly any resale value, investing on Illicic could be a big gamble.
