According to Alan Nixon, via his Patreon, Everton are making a move for Blackburn Rovers’ Ben Brereton Diaz and have made initial enquiries.
The Chile international has been linked with a move to the Premier League all summer long as he enters the final year of his Blackburn Rovers contract, and now, the Toffees are well and truly in the race.
According to Nixon, both Leeds United and West Ham are also keen, but Leeds need to sell before they buy while West Ham are yet to commit to this deal.
Everton certainly need to bolster that attack. Richarlison has left the club, Anthony Gordon looks like he’s on the way out, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin is perennially injured at this point.
Luckily for the Merseysiders, the ‘wonderful‘ forward may well be the answer to their prayers.
The attacker was prolific in the Championship last term, netting 22 goals as he finished third in the league’s scoring charts.
The former Nottingham Forest man can play either as a central stiriker or down the left, and he seems to be ready to make the step up to the Premier League.
The Chilean has shown on the international stage that he’s more than capable of playing at the top-level, and a move to a club like Everton would be the logical next step in his career.
The Toffees may be about to receive a £60m windfall for Anthony Gordon, and a move for Brereton Diaz may only set them back around £15m.
This could be a genius transfer from the Toffees, but, they may need to move quickly on this one as Leeds and West Ham continue to circle.
This is certainly a transfer story to keep an eye on, especially as rumours of Gordon’s move to Chelsea persist.
