Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez is being pursued by Everton
A report in the Daily Mail has suggested that Everton are interested in signing Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez this summer, while another of their targets Gylfi Sigurdsson is now on the Foxes’ radar.
The Mail reports that Mahrez is looking to leave the King Power Stadium this summer, and Everton are one of the clubs that are ready to offer him a move away, with former Leicester scout Steve Walsh now working at Goodison Park as a director of football.

However, the Toffees appear set to face an uphill battle trying to win the race for his signature, with the Mail adding that Mahrez – who scored 12 goals in all competitions – wants Arsenal or Chelsea to make a move, while the top two teams in Ligue 1 this past season – Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain – are also keen.
Seemingly sensing that Mahrez’s exit is inevitable, Leicester have started to target potential replacements. The Mail reports that one of the names on their list is Swansea City’s £30 million-rated playmaker Sigurdsson after his sensational campaign at the Liberty Stadium.

That interest appears to set up a potential battle between Everton and the Foxes for the Iceland international’s signature, and that perhaps presents something of a dilemma for Ronald Koeman.
If the Toffees pursue Mahrez and find that one of the clubs he wants to sign for come in and win the race, then they may perhaps be playing catch-up in the race for Sigurdsson also.
