Everton are interested in signing Aberdeen star Duk and scouted him in action against Ross County on Friday night.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Everton scouts were in attendance to watch Duk star for Aberdeen again.

Duk – also known as Luis Lopes – scored the only goal of the game as Aberdeen beat Ross County 1-0.

Duk raced onto a through ball before slotting a first-time finish into the back of the net.

Everton fans may suggest that it was ‘only Ross County’ but Duk showed the kind of composure and finishing ability the Toffees desperately lack.

The Toffees are far from alone in the race for Duk though.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Burnley are also keen on Duk after winning promotion to the Premier League.

Romano adds that Blackburn Rovers and Hull City are also interested with Aberdeen facing a battle to hold onto their star striker.

Who is Everton target Duk?

Duk was born in Lisbon and spent time in the Sporting ranks before moving on to Belenenses.

At 17, Duk was snapped up by Benfica and ended up becoming a key player in the Benfica B team.

11 goals in 42 games put Duk on the radar of Aberdeen and they pulled off what now looks like a masterstroke of a signing.

Duk has smashed 18 goals in 38 games for Aberdeen this season, becoming one of the stars of the Scottish campaign.

Romano noted that Duk signed for free but Benfica will receive 50% of a future fee, meaning the Dons may demand a high price.

Duk has also picked up two caps for Cape Verde on the international stage having previously been a Portugal youth international.

Hailed as ‘brilliant’ by Aberdeen teammate Jack MacKenzie, Duk looks set for a big future and Everton may well push to sign him depending on their relegation fate.
