The Toffees are not able to sign players between the age of 10 and 18 until next year, according to the Mirror, and are looking to replace Martin Waldron who has now left the club.

The Mirror (20/1; page 67) suggests that Baggies man Hopcroft is the candidate that Everton want to fill the role, and they have made an approach to try and tempt him to come to Merseyside.

While the expectations have increased at Everton in recent years, the Toffees have also left the path clear for some of their brightest prospects to force their way into the senior side.

It would hardly be a surprise if the Everton role appealed to Hopcroft as the Toffees look to be particularly determined to move themselves up alongside the Premier League’s heavyweights, and ensuring that they continue to uncover starlets for the future will certainly boost their chances of doing that.
