After just a year and a half in Iberia, reports suggest that Famalicao could be about to make a £23 million profit on one of Europe’s most rapidly-rising defensive midfielders.
AS claims that Assuncao will leave the Primeira Liga outfit either in the winter or next summer.
Everton, Wolves, Manchester United and a Sevilla side famous for snapping up promising, improving talents like this are all allegedly interested, with the highly-rated ball-winner valued at £23 million.
“I have to thank Simeone. I gained experience, that mischief (at Atletico),” Assuncao told Marca recently.
“When he trained me for the first time, I was 16 years old. I scored four goals in training. I was caught by Simeone, I told him my age and he told me I was very good . That night I did not sleep.”
