Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton have shown an interest in Mohamed Simakan but the Strasbourg defender has his heart set on joining AC Milan, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.

Who can blame him, really?

The seven-time European champions appear to be on the verge of something special with a squad chock-full of fresh-faced future superstars taking Italian football by storm.

Top of the table after 13 matches, Milan are daring to dream of a Scudetto triumph after a decade of disappointment.

20-year-old Simakan would slot in seamlessly alongside the likes of Rafael Leao, Jens Petter Hauge and Alexis Saelemaekers at the San Siro.

Pianeta Milan reported last week that the Rossoneri had agreed a five-year contract with Simakan, although Milan are yet to put forward the £18 million fee Strasbourg want for their Marseille-born powerhouse.

Despite interest from Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton and Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves, Milan remains the dream destination for a defender who, according his agent, is also on the radar of Lyon, Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund.

Everton’s interest comes as something of a surprise given that Michael Keane and Yerry Mina are playing perhaps the best football of their Toffees careers this season. And that is without mentioning the impressive Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate.

Speaking to Telefoot recently, Milan technical director Paolo Maldini confirmed the club’s interest in Simakan.
