Everton and West Ham United are reportedly keen on Porto’s Hector Herrera.

According to Correio de Manha in Portugal, Everton and West Ham United may join the race to sign Porto midfielder Hector Herrera this summer.
Herrera, 28, made his name in his native Mexico by starring with Pachuca, earning a 2013 move to Porto, where he has now racked up nearly 200 appearances.
The midfielder, known for his non-stop energy and relentless work rate in the middle of the park, has grabbed 26 goals and 27 assists for Porto, becoming one of the most underrated midfielders in Europe.

At the World Cup, Herrera has been the heartbeat of the Mexico midfield alongside Andres Guardado, and his performances appear to be attracting major interest this summer.

Correio de Manha not only report that Real Madrid – now managed by Herrera’s former Porto boss Julen Lopetegui – are keen on Herrera, but Arsenal, Everton and West Ham are also considering joining the race.
It’s even claimed that an offer of around €15million (£13.25million) may be enough to secure Herrera’s signature given his age, and that fee would fit into the budget of both clubs.

Everton may have been linked with Mexico teammate Hirving Lozano, but adding Herrera to Idrissa Gueye in midfield would give new boss Marco Silva a midfield partnership full of running.
West Ham may hope that Herrera’s relationship with Javier Hernandez gives them a boost in the race, but with Real Madrid thought to be keen, this could be an ambitious pursuit for both teams.
