Everton and West Ham United are reportedly keen on signing Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany.

According to The Mirror, Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany is attracting interest from both Everton and West Ham United ahead of the summer transfer window.
Kompany enjoyed a superb Saturday evening, as he scored the opening goal in Manchester City’s 3-0 away win over Southampton, playing the full 90 minutes whilst helping his side keep a clean sheet.
The Belgian defender was making just his eighth appearances of what has been another injury-hit campaign for Kompany, who was once considered as one of the Premier League’s very best defenders.
With two Premier League titles to his name as well as more than 300 appearances for City, captain Kompany has been vital for the club ever since his 2008 move from Hamburg, though injuries have dampened his impact in recent years.
Kompany is contracted to City until 2019, but The Mirror claim that Everton and West Ham United will both be interested in signing Kompany this summer should he prove his fitness between now and the end of the season.
Everton already have two veteran defenders in Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka, and whilst landing Kompany could be something of a coup if at full health, the Toffees should be looking to land a young centre back than the 31-year-old Kompany.

Meanwhile, the same could be said for West Ham, whose January addition of Jose Fonte has not paid dividends, but David Gold and David Sullivan may be more likely to pay up for a big-name signing like Kompany this summer.
Whilst the duo may be keen, City – who often look disjointed defensively without the leadership of Kompany – could look to keep the Belgian should he stay fit between now and the end of the season, with Pep Guardiola in need of reinforcements at the back.
