Everton are keen to sign Dalian Pro striker Salomon Rondon before the transfer deadline – but West Ham United have also shown an interest in a deal.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Everton would like to sign Rondon ahead of the transfer deadline.
That’s really no surprise given the relationship Rondon has had with Everton boss Rafael Benitez over the years.
Benitez signed Rondon for Newcastle back in 2018, and the striker recorded 12 goals in 33 games under Benitez before following him to China with Dalian Pro.
The pair could now work together with a third club, as Everton are chasing a deal before the deadline as they seek experienced competition and cover for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
However, this report now claims that three other Premier League clubs want Rondon too.
West Ham United are one of the contenders, alongside Wolverhampton Wanderers and even Leicester City.

Leicester have already landed Patson Daka this summer, so signing another striker would be strange, whilst Wolves paraded new signing Hwang Hee-chan against Manchester United, meaning they don’t really need a striker now either.
This could subsequently come down to West Ham or Everton, with the Hammers maybe seeking another striker to help Michail Antonio.
Rondon is big, strong and experienced, and as he looks to engineer an exit from China, a return to the Premier League could be on the cards.
