According to The Sun, Everton, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion are all pursuing Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bony, 28, was one of the Premier League’s top strikers during his time with Swansea City, smashing 26 goals in just 54 league games following a 2014 move from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem.

In January 2015, Manchester City swooped to land Bony in a big-money move from Swansea, reuniting him with Ivorian international team-mate Yaya Toure – but his move didn’t work out as planned.

Bony mostly served as cover for Sergio Aguero, scoring just six times in 36 Premier League appearances, before being sent out on loan to Stoke City by Pep Guardiola this season.

Now, after just two goals in ten Premier League outings for the Potters, Bony is allegedly attracting interest, with The Sun claiming that Everton, West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion are all eyeing him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Whilst Bony was a strong, dominant and lethal striker during his time with Swansea, those teams should steer well clear of the striker given his recent record in the Premier League.

Bony has yet to feature in the Premier League in 2017 having fallen out of favour under Mark Hughes at Stoke, with his lack of playing time a major concern – before even getting into his fitness levels right now.

Bony is not the same player he was at Swansea, and Everton particularly shouldn’t consider him as any sort of replacement for Romelu Lukaku after another season where the Ivorian has been a bit-part player in the Premier League.

With hefty wages at Manchester City too, Bony won’t come cheap – and quite simply, his output since joining City and even Stoke means that teams should avoid rushing into sign him this summer; especially those with top six aspirations such as Everton.
