Everton and West Bromwich Albion both feel that Manchester United’s Morgan Schneiderlin could enhance the quality of their teams.
According to a report in the Daily Express, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has been speaking to Manchester United about a potential deal for Morgan Schneiderlin for over a fortnight now.
Schneiderlin is believed to be on Everton’s wishlist in the January transfer, as Koeman seeks to make additions.
The French international midfielder has struggled to break into Jose Mourinho’s line-up at Old Trafford, and it is believed that he could be available in the new year.
Everton are keen to offer Schneiderlin a place at Goodison Park, and Koeman is reportedly already in discussions about signing the former Southampton man.
The Express believe that Everton are currently the front runner to sign Schneiderlin, but they do face competition.
West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis is eager to hijack the deal, as he would also like to bring in the 27-year-old.
West Brom are expected to have funds to invest in January, and Schneiderlin is a player who Pulis would like.
As things stand, West Brom occupy seventh place in the Premier League table – one spot above Everton.
