Everton and Watford have been watching Huddersfield Town striker Rekeil Pyke, according to the Sun.

The 19-year-old is yet to feature for the Terriers at senior level, but spent time on loan to both Wrexham and Colchester United this past campaign.

Despite failing to find the net in 15 outings for either club, Pyke is still said to have made a positive impression, with U’s boss John McGreal describing the 5ft 10ins front man as a “beast of a kid”.

And it is claimed that Huddersfield are likely to want to keep Pyke, although his future may be out of the newly promoted side’s hands.

According to Transfermarkt, Pyke’s contract expires this summer, which could allow Everton or Watford to sign him for a small compensation fee.

Everton’s alleged interest is perhaps little surprise given their business over the past 12 months, which has seen Bassala Sambou, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ademola Lookman arrive from Football League clubs.

Should Pyke stick with Huddersfield… or seek a move to Everton/Watford?
