According to Corriere Dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing San Lorenzo defender Marcos Senesi – but Everton are also pursuing his signature.

Senesi, 20, has come up through the San Lorenzo ranks, and has now made 22 first-team appearances for the Argentinian side whilst also representing his country at last summer’s Under-20 World Cup.

The defender looks to be a talent for the future, and interest in his signature is now mounting ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

Corriere Dello Sport report that Tottenham Hotspur are keen to land Senesi, with Premier League rivals Everton also thought to be pursuing him ahead of the summer window.

Major clubs around Europe, such as Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Roma and Sevilla are also claimed to be interested in signing Senesi this summer, meaning a real battle could be on for the defender’s signature.

Senesi isn’t the biggest centre back at just 6ft tall, but he has shown impressive aerial ability, and Spurs boss Pochettino may be hoping that he can tempt his fellow Argentinian into heading to North London.

Tottenham struck a similar deal to sign Juan Foyth from Estudiantes last summer, and he is actually an Argentina Under-20 teammate of Senesi, with Pochettino seemingly looking to repeat last summer’s move to sign Foyth with the arrival of another talented young Argentinian centre back.
