Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Toulouse’s Issa Diop.

According to the Daily Mail, French side Toulouse are demanding a fee of around £26million for star defender Issa Diop amid interest from a host of Premier League clubs.

Diop, 21, was born in Toulouse and has come up through the ranks with his hometown club, racking up more than 80 first-team appearances since making his debut in 2015.

Standing at a giant 6ft 4in tall, Diop has been a regular for France across various youth levels, and his performances in France appear to have attracted interest.

The Daily Mail report that Premier League clubs Arsenal, Everton, Fulham, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United are all keen on Diop, but will have to pay big money to land him.

It’s claimed that Toulouse are demanding a huge £26million fee for Diop, and it remains to be seen whether the Premier League quintet make concrete moves for the Frenchman this summer.

Arsenal may be pressing for Borussia Dortmund veteran Sokratis Papastathopoulos, but with Freiburg’s Caglar Soyuncu linked, a younger defender to mould and develop would make sense, with Diop fitting the bill.

Everton will also be looking for a younger option given the advancing years of Phil Jagielka and Ashley Williams, with Tottenham potentially in the market for a centre back if Toby Alderweireld moves on.

West Ham are in desperate need of reinforcements at centre back, as are Fulham following their promotion to the Premier League – and Diop could be spoilt for choice this summer.
