Everton and Tottenham Hotspur were both interested in Rochdale midfielder Daniel Adshead.

Adshead had emerged on the radar of both Everton and Tottenham, after showing promising signs in Rochdale’s youth team.
With his contract running down, Spurs and the Toffees were keen to poach the midfielder from the League One club.
However, Adshead has decided that his future is better served by sticking with Rochdale.
The youngster will now pen a professional contract at Spotland, where he will be hoping his decision proves to be the correct one.

Realistically, Adshead’s first-team chances look stronger with Dale than they do at either Tottenham or Everton.
Spurs and Everton both have a number of talented youngsters breaking through.
But at his current club Adshead can see a clear route into Keith Hill’s side’s first-team, and has already made his debut for Dale.
