Everton and Sunderland are being linked with Goteborg goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg.
According to Swedish news outlet Fotboll Skanalen, Everton and Sunderland are both interested in signing Goteborg goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg.
Dahlberg, 18, came up through the ranks with hometown club Alvangens IK before heading to Goteborg in 2015, where he has emerged as one of the top young talents in Sweden.
The shot-stopper already has started every single Allsvenskan game for Goteborg this season, conceding 29 goals in the process whilst keeping four clean sheets in what has been an impressive 2017 for Dahlberg.
The teenager has earned two caps for the Sweden Under-21’s having featured regularly for his country’s Under-17’s and Under-19’s over the years, and he now appears to be attracting interest.
Swedish news outlet Fotboll Skanalen report that Dahlberg is being tracked by Everton and Sunderland as well as German outfit St. Pauli, as clubs eye him up ahead of the January transfer window.
Everton snapped up Jordan Pickford from Sunderland over the summer, with the England ace expected to be their first-choice goalkeeper for the foreseeable future, with Ronald Koeman’s men could look to develop Dahlberg behind veterans like Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles.
Meanwhile, Sunderland brought in two goalkeepers over the summer in Robbin Ruiter and Jason Steele, and whilst Simon Grayson also has Max Stryjek and Mika at his disposal, Dahlberg could be one for the future.
Fotboll Direkt reported over the summer that Tottenham were looking to land Dahlberg, but with Everton and Sunderland now keen too, the teenage goalkeeper may be spoilt for choice in 2018 when the transfer window opens again.
