Both Everton and Stoke City were linked with moves for Kodjia ahead of his transfer to Aston Villa last year.
Jonathan Kodjia scores for Aston Villa
Everton and Stoke City are among the clubs keen on Aston Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia, The Mirror reports (10/04, p49).
Both clubs were linked with moves for the Ivorian ahead of his arrival at Villa Park from Bristol City in August 2016 [Daily Mail].
And it appears Kodjia’s recent form has convinced the pair to renew their interest ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
Despite a mediocre campaign for the Villans, the £15 million man has justified his tag as the Championship’s most expensive ever player with 19 goals in 33 games for his new employers.
And it seems as though Kodjia is ready to test his hand at Premier League level, whether Villa can get there or not.
Both Everton and Stoke are likely to be in the market for new centre-forwards this summer, with Romelu Lukaku’s Goodison Park future in doubt and Potters loanee Wilfried Bony expected to return to Manchester City.
Wilfried Bony has struggled at Stoke
Six-foot-two Kodjia has also played on the left for Villa this season, and that sort of versatility is sure to be of use to the top flight pair.
Would Kodjia be a good signing for Everton/Stoke City?
