Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Valencia’s Rodrigo.

According to Calciomercato, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Valencia forward Rodrigo this summer after his impressive campaign in Spain.
Rodrigo, 27, was on the books with Real Madrid as a youngster and may even be remembered by some fans for having spent the 2010-11 season on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
The forward had a spell with Benfica before heading to Valencia in 2014, and he is enjoying his best season to date, notching 16 goals and four assists in 34 appearances under Marcelino.

Now, it’s claimed that Rodrigo is attracting major interest, with Everton and Tottenham – as well as Brighton and Hove Albion – interested in splashing around €40million (£35million) on the forward.
Release clause a problem
Back in November, Valencia tied Rodrigo down to a new contract, and confirmed on their official website that the deal included a €120million (£105million) release clause in a huge agreement for the club.

Release clauses are part and parcel of contracts in Spain, and whilst such a huge figure is merely to protect Valencia in negotiations, any team attempting to sign Rodrigo could face a tough challenge.
The forward – who can play out wide or up front – is expected to be a part of the Spain squad at the World Cup in Russia this summer, and his price tag could increase if he impresses.
Brighton may be ambitious, but the fees being discussed may even be beyond them, but Everton or Spurs could be in a position to offer Valencia big money for their prized forward.
