Chelsea are reportedly leading the race for Manchester United defender Luke Shaw.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are leading the race for Manchester United left back Luke Shaw – but Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be lurking.
Shaw, 22, was one of English football’s brightest young talents when he burst onto the scene with Southampton during the 2013-14 campaign, and earned a move to Manchester United in the summer of 2014.
Touted to be the starting left back for club and country for the foreseeable future, Shaw has struggled with injuries at Old Trafford, and he certainly hasn’t been able to convince manager Jose Mourinho.

After Mourinho not only substituted him at half time against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday but also lambasted him after the final whistle, Shaw now looks set to leave United this summer, with Chelsea believed to be frontrunners.
Everton and Tottenham still to come into play?
It’s claimed that Shaw is a Chelsea fan and his representatives are aware of interest from the Blues, but they aren’t the only team seemingly willing to take a chance on the youngster after his United hell.

The report states that Everton may yet come into play given that they’re searching for a long-term successor to Leighton Baines, whilst Tottenham – managed by Mauricio Pochettino, who coached Shaw at Southampton – are also lurking, along with Arsenal and Manchester City.
With Mourinho keen on Tottenham’s Danny Rose, a part-exchange deal involving Shaw may be ideal for all, handing Shaw the chance to return to the south and work with former boss Pochettino, whilst Rose would be able to fulfil his desire of returning north.
Yet with Chelsea and a host of other clubs interested, Shaw’s future appears far from clear, and a fascinating summer awaits for the left back as he plots a future away from Mourinho.
