Everton and Newcastle United have been linked with a remarkable move for the Ajax midfielder.

The Ajax midfielder looks very likely to leave this summer, with Everton and Newcastle now listed as two clubs taking a keen interest.
Van de Beek has been linked with some of Europe’s biggest sides, but Everton and Newcastle appear to be keen on the Dutchman, who has enjoyed a wonderful season.
“If I had to put my money on a player leaving, it would be Donny van de Beek,” Van der Kraan said.
“He is a perfect backup for many clubs. He is not the No 1 for most clubs – I have seen scouts from Tottenham, Man United, Everton, Liverpool and Newcastle watching him a number of times.

“He is an ideal player for the Premier League, he has the skills, like most Ajax players, and a big tank so he can run all day. But all these clubs have a priority list and Van de Beek seems the perfect backup for the big clubs.
“I think he is keen on the Premier League, more than the Bundesliga or Serie A.”
The problem stems from whether Everton or Newcastle would appeal to Van de Beek.
Neither club has European football on offer, and it would be shock if he was to arrive at either Goodison Park or St. James’ Park.
Everton may have a far better chance of pulling of a shock deal than Newcastle though.

Everton could finance a deal for Van De Beek, who is thought to be valued at around £45 million (Daily Express), but it seems highly unlikely that Newcastle would be able to afford such a fee, especially with Rafael Benitez’s future still up in the air.
