According to the Daily Mail, Everton are not as close to signing Marcos Rojo as has been reported elsewhere.

It had been claimed that Rojo was travelling to Everton to seal a deal at Goodison Park, but the Mail has put more doubt in the deal.

Everton and United are yet to come to a compromise, with both sides wanting different things from the transfer.

Everton want to take Rojo on loan, but United would prefer to sell him.

Whether Everton will be open to taking Rojo on a long-term deal remains to be seen.
