Newcastle United star Jamaal Lascelles is attracting attention from a number of their Premier League rivals, including Everton and Liverpool.

Lascelles has been excellent for the Magpies since establishing himself as a key man in their side. He captained Rafa Benitez’s men to promotion out of the Championship and has done well since the club’s return to the top flight.

Unfortunately for Newcastle supporters, his performances have seen the former Nottingham Forest man attract plenty of attention from some of their divisional rivals. The London Evening Standard reported that Chelsea were keen on the 24-year-old, and the Chronicle has now suggested that the Blues are not the only team interested in a potential deal.

Little surprise Toffees and Reds are keen
Despite adding Virgil van Dijk to their ranks during the January transfer window, it appears that Jurgen Klopp still needs further strength at the back with some of their defenders struggling to prove themselves reliable enough to play for a team looking to fight for the title.
Meanwhile, Everton’s defence has undoubtedly been a major disappointment this season. The Toffees boast the worst defensive record of any team in the top-half and a few of their options seem to be edging towards the end of their top flight careers.
Lascelles appears to have a decent amount of potential on top of the quality that he is already showing, and has been a brilliant leader for the Magpies since being given the armband, so he would arguably be a great addition for either club if they made a bid and subsequently won the race for his signature.
