According to Goal, Inter Milan and Sevilla are rivalling Everton in the race to sign Nantes teenager Kamal Bafounta this summer.

Bafounta, 16, has emerged as one of the top young talents in France, earning comparisons to Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba as a result of his impressive displays.

The problem for Nantes is that Bafounta is out of contract at the end of the season, and he can walk away to another club in France for minimal compensation this summer.

L’Equipe reported over the weekend that Everton have already opened talks with Bafounta’s representatives about a move to Goodison Park, but they seemingly face stern competition.

Goal claim that Inter Milan and Sevilla – two major European sides – have made Bafounta a summer target, with Inter inviting him to see their facilities ahead of a possible move.

Sevilla are believed to have made contact with Bafounta about a move, so whilst Everton may be leading the race for now, they aren’t quite certain of landing his signature just yet.

Having focused on adding talented youngsters in recent years, Everton will hope to add an in-demand talent in Bafounta, but may have to roll out the red carpet to beat Inter and Sevilla to his services.
